Brian DiGiacco: Partner, 1RDG the Financial Center
Years in current role: 20
What trends or emerging technologies do you see shaping the future of your field?
Over the coming years, artificial intelligence will significantly reshape public accounting by automating repetitive tasks, enhancing data analysis, and reducing human error. With machine learning, accountants will be able to analyze vast amounts of data more quickly. This shift will allow professionals to transition from traditional roles to strategic advisors, focusing on value-added services. With a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, 1RDG will embrace this change strategically with a continued focus on bettering the client experience.
What was a defining moment in your career that shaped your leadership style?
I’ve been fortunate throughout my career to have been mentored by great leaders. I wouldn’t say there was a particular defining moment that shaped my leadership style but rather a common theme amongst these leaders. Those who came before me showed me how important it is to work alongside your team. They didn’t just give orders; they rolled up their sleeves and got involved in the work. I’ve found that this hands-on approach brings out the best in people as it builds trust and fosters teamwork. By leading by example, I create an environment where everyone feels motivated to contribute.
What’s your favorite way to support other local businesses?
Being in the public accounting field, we greatly depend on our clients’ support, as their success directly impacts our own. Therefore, I prioritize working with clients and local businesses whenever possible. I also make it a point to refer family, friends and other clients to them. Our firm also shares a passion for supporting nonprofits. The 1RDG Foundation was created for this purpose, allowing us to engage in year-round fundraising activities that provide financial support and volunteer time to local charities. This initiative fosters camaraderie among our team and gives us a greater sense of purpose beyond our daily work.
